ABA Therapy for Kids in SE Portland

ABA Therapy SE Portland

Climb Behavioral Solutions is a clinic-based ABA therapy provider serving families in SE Portland and the surrounding Portland metro. We work with children ages 2–11 who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis, using a verbal behavior approach and ethical, assent-based care. Our clinic is a place where your child is known by name — not just by a treatment plan.

Helping SE Portland Families Find Their Path Forward

When your child receives an autism diagnosis, it can feel like you’re standing at the base of an impossible mountain. There’s a flood of information, a long list of decisions, and a deep need to simply know: is there a place that will truly understand my kid?

That’s exactly why Climb Behavioral Solutions ABA Therapy exists.

We work with families across SE Portland — from Woodstock and Mt. Tabor to Division Street and the Richmond neighborhood — to provide Applied Behavior Analysis therapy that’s grounded in science and centered on your child as a whole person. We take the time to understand how your child learns, what motivates them, and what will genuinely improve their quality of life.

What Makes Climb Different

A verbal behavior focus

Our ABA therapy uses a verbal behavior (VB) approach, which means we prioritize building your child’s ability to communicate — not just to comply. Language, social connection, and functional independence are at the center of every treatment plan we write.

Play-based and child-led sessions

There is more than one way to climb a mountain, and there is more than one way to learn. Our team gets to know your child’s interests, strengths, and learning style before we ever run a single program. Sessions are built around engagement, not just repetition.

Ethical, assent-based care

We believe children deserve a voice in their own therapy. Our approach is rooted in assent-based practices, meaning we pay attention to how your child is responding and adjust accordingly. Therapy should feel safe — for your child and for your family.

A team that stays with you

Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) supervise every case and are actively involved in your child’s progress. You’ll always know who is working with your child and why.

Who We Serve in SE Portland

We currently work with children between the ages of 2 and 11 who have received an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) evaluation. Services are primarily delivered in our clinic setting, which is designed to be supportive, structured, and genuinely enjoyable for kids in that age range.

All clients must have a formal ASD diagnosis, or another related developmental disability to begin services. If your child has recently been evaluated or you’re in the process of getting a diagnosis, we’re happy to walk you through what comes next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Click on questions to see answers

What ages do you work with?

We currently serve children ages 2 through 11. Our clinic environment is designed to be a great fit for this age range. As children grow older, their needs and interests evolve, and we’ll always be honest with families about whether our space continues to be the right fit.

Do you have a waitlist?

Yes, we carry an active waitlist. Wait times vary depending on how many families we’re currently serving and our referral volume. To hold a spot, we’ll need your child’s name, date of birth, address, insurance information, and their ASD evaluation.

Do you offer in-home therapy?

Our services are primarily clinic-based. When a clinician determines that home visits support a client’s progress — for example, to help generalize skills learned in the clinic — those appointments can be arranged. In-home services are not offered as a permanent primary location for treatment.

What insurance do you accept?

Please contact us directly for the most up-to-date information on accepted insurance plans, including Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) coverage.

What are my expectations as a parent?

Parents are expected to meet with their BCBA at a minimum of once a month to discuss their child’s progress and any concerns that may be present in the home setting. Parents will have their own individual goals that will help guide them to increasing success within their home. ABA therapy is an intensive service and parents are expected to bring their child on time and maintain consistent attendance. Frequent cancellations could potentially lead to a discharge from services.
